It returns a set of summary and test diagnostic information about the tests performed on each service.The web service performs health tests on geospatial services that provide access to metadata and data.

  • W3C Evaluation and Report Language (EARL): EARL is a vocabulary, the terms of which are defined across a set of specifications and technical notes, and that is used to describe test results. The primary motivation for developing this vocabulary is to facilitate the exchange of test results between Web accessibility evaluation tools in a vendor-neutral and platform-independent format. It also provides reusable terms for generic quality assurance and validation purposes.
  • W3C has just published a Candidate Recommendation from the Data on the Web Best Practices Working Group.
  • The joint W3C /OGC Spatial Data on the Web Working Group is working on extending the Data on the Web Best Practices to spatial and geo-spatial data. The have published a first Public Draft, and a Second Public draft is in the works.
  • The Research Data Alliance was established by the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) and is starting to produce recommendations for sustainable, persistent and reproducible (scientific) data services. In particular, the recommendations for evolvlng or dynamic data may be relevant.
  • ITIL, an acronym formerly meaning IT Infrastructure Library, is a framework and terminology for strategic and tactical managment of IT services. The most recent version is Version 3 and it may give useful terminology to re-use.
