Welcome to the EnergyUtilitiesDwg web

Overview

The OGC Energy & Utilities Domain Working Group focuses on the global energy and utilities community, which is defined as individuals and organizations engaged in the geospatial aspects of the planning, delivery, operations, reliability and ongoing management of electric, gas, oil and water services throughout the world. The Energy & Utilities DWG facilitates information exchange and collaboration between agencies and industry by focusing on the engagement of industry within this community. Outside of the energy and utility industry, new users of geospatial information and standards are emerging. For example, municipalities and their collaborators could benefit from access to authoritative geospatial data for community energy and emissions inventory and model development purposes. Utilities can achieve operational efficiencies in responding to such requests, by standardizing the way in which data or other information products are made available in a way that protects customer privacy and commercial interests.

The OGC Energy & Utilities DWG held a Summit at the OGC TC, June 28, 2017, in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador. The Summit was well attended and drew world class research and speakers, to provide perspectives on energy data exchange, integration, visualization, and how the standards are used (or could be) to meet the needs of Smart Energy Communities and Utilities.

Here is the Final Report for the Energy & Utilities Summit, including overview of presentations, discussion, recommendations, and action items.

Here is the Agenda for the Energy & Utilities Summit, and here are the presentations made during the Summit:
